วัดดอยแม่ปั่ง เชียงใหม่"หลวงปู่แหวนสุจิณโณ วัดดอยแม่ปั๋ง" พระอริยสงฆ์ผู้เปี่ยมล้นด้วยเมตตากรุณาอย่างแท้จริง ท่านมีนามเดิมว่า "ญาณ" ืโยมบิดาชื่อ ใส โยมมารดา แก้ว อาชีพทำนาและตีเหล็ก ท่านเกิดเมื่อวันที่ 16 มกราคม พ.ศ.2430 ณ บ้านหนองบอน หมู่ 2 ต.นาโป่ง อ.เมือง จ.เลย มีพี่น้อง2 คน ท่านเป็นคนที่ 2 ท่านออกบรรพชาเป็นสามเณรตั้งแต่อายุได้เพียง 13 ปีโดยบวชในฝ่ายมหานิกายโดยมี พระอาจารย์คำมา เป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์ และได้เปลี่ยนชื่อใหม่เป็น "แหวน"
สามเณรแหวนสนใจปฏิบัติธรรมและเรียนรู้ในตำราต่างๆเป็นอย่างยิ่ง สามารถอ่านตำราในใบลานได้ทั้งภาษาขอมและภาษาล้านนา จนแตกฉานความประพฤติของสามเณรแหวนนี้เป็นที่น่าเลื่อมใสและก่อศัทธาแก่ผู้พบเห็นเป็นอย่างยิ่ง ฉันอาหารเพียงมื้อเดียว และไม่ฉันเนื้อสัตว์ บุคลิกลักษณะสุขุม พูดน้อย รักสันโดษสมถะ อาจารย์อ้วนได้นำไปฝากเรียนธรรมและวิชาการอื่นๆ ที่สำนักสงฆ์วัดสร้างถ่อ อ.หัวสะพาน จ.อุบลราชธานี ณวัดนี้ได้มีพระอาจารย์สิงห์ ขันตยาคโมเป็นผู้ประสิทธิ์ประสาทวิชาความรู้ทางภาษาบาลี ภาษาไทย ทำให้ได้เข้าใจในธรรมะขึ้นอีกอักโข
เมื่อท่านอายุครบบวชก็ได้อุปสมบที่วัดสร้างถ่อนอก โดยบวชในฝ่ายมหานิกายเช่นเดิม ได้ศึกษาธรรมวินัย ธรรมปฏิบัติจนเป็นผู้รอบรู้ทั้งปริยัติธรรมตลอดจนถึงวิชาอาคม จากนั้นท่านก็ออกเสาะแสวงหาอาจารย์ผู้ที่จะประสิทธิื์ื์์ความรู้ให้แก่ท่านต่อไปอีกท่านจึงได้ออกเสาะแสวงหาอาจารย์ผู้ที่ประสิทธิ์ความรู้ให้แก่ท่านต่อไปอีกท่านจึงได้ออกเดินทางธุดงค์ไปตามที่ต่างๆ และได้คบหากันกับ "หลวงปู่ตื้อ อาจลธรรมโม ซึ่งเป็ฯผู้ชักนำให้ไปพบพระ "อาจารย์มั่น ภูริทัตโต" หลวงปู่แหวนขอรับเป็นพระสงฆ์ในฝ่ายธรรมยุติกนิกายโดยมีท่านเจ้าคุณพระอุมาสีคุณปมาจารย์เป็นพระอุปัชฌาจารย์
นับแต่นั้นหลวงปู่แหวนก็ได้ออกธุดงค์กรรมฐานหาความวิเวกตามป่าเขาลำเนาไพรแถบภาคเหนือตลอดมา จวบจนได้พบวัดดอยแม่ปั๋ง อ.พร้าว จ.เชียงใหม่ และได้ทำการพัฒนาจนเจริญรุ่งเรือง จนเป็นที่รู้แก่คนทั่วไปถึงทุกวันนี้ หลวงปู่แหวนสุจิณโณ วัดดอยแม่ปั๋งได้มรณภาพลงที่วัดดอยแ่ม่ปั๋งแห่งนี้ เมื่อวันที่ 2 กรกฎาคม พ.ศ.2528 สิริอายุ 98 ปี
